Happy Birthday Mum Corke

For some very good reason at the time the trip was planned to start 2 days prior to Mum Corke's 50th birthday on 21st May. To help with the send off Amy and I with Nan and Grandad's help a suprise birthday was planned for the week prior at the Blue Boar pub in Poole.

Friends from Mum's Youth Club days, Branksome Heath, the RNLI, Poole Hospital including many of her past bosses! Many hadn't seen Mum for over 10 years and some for even longer so the suprise was brilliant.

The party was attended by over 60 guests consisting of friends, family and past work colleagues with many sending best wishes for a memory book that will be produced later in the year.

The party centred on Mum's 50th year and all the things that have been mentioned in passing over the past months were collated to form a list. Some of the big things were offered out to the guests to contribute towards that will help Mum with White Water Rafting, Hot Air Ballooning, Parachute Jump, learning to play Steel Drums and Zorbing.

Smaller items such as tasting different sausages and caviar were arranged on the evening as well as trying different cocktails.

The icing on the cake, literally, was a lifeboat themed birthday cake, cleverly baked and constructed by one of Ambers friend's Mum.

Happy Birthday for the 21st Mum - we're thinking of you here in Singapore x
